Want to become co-founder of a startup that is working to disrupt the shipping industry? The shipping industry is one of the largest and most crucial industries in the world, yet most of us know little about it. That is also why it is one of the most interesting industries to be operating in, because it's one that badly needs disruption.


What is Maindeck

Every year about 30,000 ships go through a dry-docking process for service and maintenance. And although being very expensive projects (USD 1-10M), it is today handled in word/excel and with agents functioning as middlemen.  With Maindeck we are leveraging this process with modern web technology, allowing ship managers to efficiently move their projects online, collaborate, receive price quotations and manage the docking process.

We will launch the first version of Project Specification module in November, and are in talks with several large ship owning companies as potential pilot customers, and other international corporations for potential collaboration. 


What we are looking for

We are looking for a proactive, self-driven and ambitious candidate to take on the role as CTO of Maindeck. 


Responsibilities

  • Set the development stack and IT frameworks
  • Manage team of developers
  • Develop and direct safeguards to reduce the risk of breaches and downtime
  • Evaluate new technology and make decisions on technological solutions 
  • Making sure Maindeck is the greatest solution out there 


Ideal experience

  • Experience in building web apps
  • Experience in managing projects and teams is preferred
  • Experience with machine learning would be a great plus. 


Personal qualities

  • A positive and forward-leaning attitude
  • Focus on delivering results and always moving the company to the next level
